I had an iPad for quite a long time (I'm at my third or fourth), and while I still love it a lot, it's just not the best device for writing. I enjoy being able to type as fast as the thoughts are forming, and I just can't be bothered with any on-screen keyboard. It's fine for texting and short messages, but for long epistles or notes, I need a proper keyboard. One where my fingers don't feel crammed and don't fight for the keys. Over the years I tried quite a few keyboards, and my favourite by far is still the Apple keyboard that came with my iMac. At work, I used a Microsoft keyboard for years, and I am now using a wireless Logitech keyboard (the one with keys like chiclets, not sure what it's called). While the Apple keyboard is quite small, it's just not small enough to carry with you all the time. You can as well pack your laptop. I needed something I could throw in my bag and carry with me everywhere. I tried case-keyboard combinations. Roll up keyboards. Silicon-over-the-screen keyboards. You name it. I tried it. But I think I finally found the one I think is perfect for me: The Logitech Keys-To-Go Keyboard. I got it on sale a couple of weeks ago and I find myself using it almost every day.
The Keys-To-Go is super thin and light. It looks intimidating, with its keys covered in some kind of coated fabric, but the keys are surprisingly responsive and have a very satisfying click response. Not as satisfying as the Apple keyboard of course, but nothing comes even close to that.
The Keys-To-Go comes in an iPad/iPhone or Android/Windows version, with some cool specialized keys, and it's just a joy to use.
The verdict: If our house burned down, I would definitively want to repurchase it.
